The wood and metal furnishings produced in New Mexico have become the signature of Southwestern high style. They are influenced by the rough severity of early Spanish pieces, yet today they have evolved into elegant, luxurious works of great originality.

Wood and metal are the great utilitarian mediums, responding to artisan and folk artist alike. Yet, in the hands of educated contemporary artists, these materials become powerful expressions of sculptural design even while, in some cases, retaining practical function.
