The world's first international script-to-screen competition, begun in 2000 as Flicks on 66. The annual festival conducts a worldwide search for short film scripts and selects seven winners. The writers are then brought to Albuquerque in July to shoot, edit and premiere their movies -- in just one week. The festival and its partners provide cast, crew, digital cameras and equipment, locations, catering, editing facilities, producers, and industry mentors.

The National Institute of Flamenco is a non-profit organization that fosters and further develops the art of flamenco throughout the state of New Mexico. A few of its many goals are: to ensure quality artistic and educational programming; to develop a year-round outreach program to schools and rural communities in the state; to provide new and increasing opportunities for New Mexican youth and young adults to obtain training in all aspects of flamenco including dance, song, guitar, history and culture. The National Institute of Flamenco also provides a chance for professional development and performance experience in flamenco through the establishment of a year-round Conservatory of Flamenco Arts. The National Institute of Flamenco actively subsidizes scholarships to youth who would otherwise be unable to afford to develop their artistic potential. The New MexiChords are the Albuquerque Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. This non-profit organization currently has about 70 men in a fun hobby of chorus and quartet singing. Along with annual spring and Christmas concerts, they also perform at nursing homes, retirement centers, parties and conventions. The Singing Valentines program helps support the SUSAN G.
