Ricardo Fernandez Ortega: Overflight
Mexican artist Ricardo Fernandez Ortega's fantastical figurative paintings reveal the alluring and mysterious essence of the feminine. Whether drifting through the night sky, taking flight with feathered wings or shining in elaborate armored outfits, Ortega's figures exist in worlds conjured through dreams and imagination. His upcoming solo exhibition of new work, "Overflight," opens Friday, October 20th with an opening reception from 5-7pm at Meyer Gallery. The show will remain on display through November 2nd.

Brad Price: Solo Exhibition
Oklahoma painter Brad Price is fascinated by the southwest landscape. Drawn to the "tortured beauty" of the high desert, Price has painted scenes of northern New Mexico for over three decades and has consequently established himself as one of the leading landscape painters of the region. For his upcoming exhibition at Meyer Gallery, Price expands his imagery beyond New Mexico's borders to include his recent explorations throughout the American west. These new inspirations have led to an unprecedented body of work that will debut on Friday, November 3rd from 5-7pm at the gallery. Price's exhibition will remain on display through November 10th.

Douglas Fryer: Beyond the Fences
Douglas Fryer's landscapes range from timeless imagery painted with serene clarity to atmospheric scenes with an edge of mystery. The Utah artist sees his aesthetic evolving towards the latter as he paints slightly more non-objective works that suggest, rather than explain reality with simplified forms and broad passages of color and texture. This shift will be apparent in Fryer's upcoming exhibition at Meyer Gallery, "Beyond the Fences," opening Friday December 8th from 5-7pm. The show will be on display through December 14th.

Jhenna Quinn Lewis: Solo Exhibition
In Jhenna Quinn Lewis' focused still life paintings, little birds perch next to elegant Japanese bowls, exist peacefully among stacks of frayed books, or mischievously hold shiny found objects in their small pointed beaks. The elusive animals explore romantic environments away from their natural habitat, bringing a Renaissance or folklore-feel to her graceful, simplistic compositions. However a recent artist residency in California's Lassen Volcanic National Park afforded Lewis the space, emotionally and physically, to observe birds in the wild. This experience has influenced many new paintings for her upcoming exhibition at Meyer Gallery, which opens on Friday, December 15th and runs through December 31st.
