| These studio tours get you out of town and into an artist's "natural environment". Studio tours offer opportunities to meet artists, see their working studios (many of which they've built themselves) and get into a creative neighborhood that is usually not open to the public. The tours are free and there are always added attractions such as food (locally produced wines, cheeses, apples) and/or music. The following is a list of the Artist Studio Tours in Northern and Central New Mexico for 2008 arranged by date. Get in the car and go! You'll have a great experience. Rio Rancho Art Association Studio Tour Local, fine artists working in a variety of mediums including oils, acrylics, colored pencil, watercolor, photography, jewelry, sculpture, pottery, and mixed media will open their studios to visitors who wish to view their latest creations and see where, and how, they work. Maps to the studios of the artists who are participating in the tour will be available at a number of local businesses
White Oaks Studio Tour
Self-guided tour beginning in the historic school house. Visit artists working in a range of media including painting, ceramics, woodwork, paper art, quilting, food vendors and more.
Corrales Art Studio Annual Tour
Nearly 60 artists participating in the annual tour, offering paintings, sculpture, photography, jewelry, ceramics, and fiber arts. Information tent will be placed at the FrontierMart for the weekend. www.corralesartstudiotour.com
Placitas Studio Tour Over 50 artists and artisans exhibiting pottery, paintings, prints, mosaics, jewelry, fused glass, sculpture, batik, water prisms and more, invite you to visit their studios in Placitas. Eldorado Studio Tour
More than 90 artists living outside of Santa Fe welcome visitors into their studios to share work in a variety of media including paintings, jewelry, photography, fiber arts, dolls, pottery, stained glass, sculpture, digital art, drawings, collage, glass and tile frames, wood art and more. Preview Gallery is at the El Dorado Elementary School. Directions: School is located at the corner of Ave. Torreon and Ave. Vista Grande. Directions: Exit I-25 at exit 290.
