Ric Speed has long sought to counterbalance his left-brained computer talents with a variety of creative right-brained endeavors. These include music, video, and animation production, performance poetry and most recently, computer enhanced photography. He was an initial member of the Digital Fine Arts Society of New Mexico and has contributed to all of their exhibitions as well as the Albuquerque American Indian Market & Southwest Art Expo and the Southwest Arts Festival of Albuquerque. He is a member and on the Board of Directors of the Corrales Society of Artists and the Corrales Art Studio Tour and belongs to the Galeria de Corrales and Yucca galleries.
