Rich Bowman’s environment, a place surrounded by thunderclouds, rolling fields and flat river plains, has always influenced his landscape paintings. After years of struggling to find peace with his paintings, he came to the realization that the detail and craft of his illustrative past are secondary to the emotional quality and truth of his work today. Free to paint without the burden of a camera’s detail, the landscapes come from a place filled with emotion, a place that he knows well. Bowman’s vibrant and passionate landscapes are both dramatic and subtle. He lures the viewer of his work with patches of color placed to contrast and intrigue.

Todd Williams describes his painting style as impressionistic, yet as also being inspired by the Barbizon School and the Tonalists. Todd prefers to paint Plein-air or alla prima when the subject allows, however, he is also an accomplished figurative painter. As an artist, Todd has always felt drawn to create paintings that convey a sense of atmosphere and spirit. His desire is to communicate visually in such a way that it will stimulate the viewers’ imagination to see not only with their eyes, but also with their hearts.

Suchitra Bhosle has immersed herself in learning, experimenting, and developing her skills and style by studying the works of masters that appeal to her, such as John Singer Sargent, Joaquin Sorolla, Nicolai Fechin and Jules Bastien-Lepage. The beauty of the female figure fascinates Suchitra and has been her focus. She strives to depict the atmosphere of the setting, and the mood of the model. She is aided in this by her study of the technical anatomical underpinnings that provide the foundation of her paintings, and the knowledge of use of color.

Fryer's works express an enchanting calm found in solitude but not isolation. In his paintings Mother Nature is quietly at work. Spring grass will overtake, but not dominate the pale grasses stripped of color by winters endless chill. Architecture is another aspect of Fryer's work, weathered barns or hand made fences, the lonely posts of the American west are bent, twisted and sculpted by the elements.

"Cat's Eyes"
Oil, 23" x 27"

There is a quiet sophistication in Milt Kobayashi's oil painted canvases, summoning a pensive, ethereal feeling in the viewer. Kobayashi's subjects are people from another time and place and, yet, they are strangely familiar. They are urban dwellers lost in thought as they take a momentary respite from their routine. Kobayashi's people are absorbed in the world of contemplation and meditation -- making them attractively aloof.

The exquisite still lifes of Malcolm Rains seem at once classic and utterly contemporary. His rich glazing and warm, precise lighting are reminiscent of the old masters, while the minimalist presentation of fruits, flowers, and other objects is thoroughly modern. His canvases suggest at more than is actually said, inviting a state of contemplation and reverie in the viewer.
