Ann Wyndham was born in Adelaide, South Australia. She has loved painting since she was a child, inspired by the vast Australian landscape.

For the past thirty-three years she has lived and painted in America, developing skills in watercolour, acrylics, caseins, batik and collage. In Chicago, she participated regularly in art shows including the Oakbrook, Yorktown and Glen Ellyn Art Festivals. She belonged to the Lisle Artists' Guild and received awards in two of their annual shows.

She is a Signature Member of the Southwestern Watercolor Society and exhibited in their 1993, '94, '95, '96, '97 , '98 and 2001 shows. She received awards at the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies, 1995 (Award of Excellence) and at the Southwestern Watercolor Society 1995 (Gallery VIII Award for Creativity).

Through the years, Ruth Tuck (Australia), Polly Hammett (Houston) Jane Jones (Dallas), Glenn Bradshaw (Wisconsin), and Virginia Cobb (Santa Fe), among others have greatly influenced and inspired Ann.

Ann's paintings are recognizable by their mosaic or stained glass quality. The figure, faces, vibrant colour and fine line elements combine to create Ann's unique and colourful style.

In the Taos area Ann exhibits her paintings, painted rocks and photocards at Art Divas, her photocards at Moby Dickens Book Shop, 10,000 Wags and the the Millicent Rogers Museum Store. During May 2000, her rocks and paintings were seen at the First State Bank, located on the southwest corner of Taos Plaza.

In April 2004 Ann had a solo show at Art Divas. On display were her drawings, rock paintings, photocards and paintings.

Artist's Statement
I have loved to draw and paint since childhood. Whenever possible, I incorporate people into my paintings for in doing so, I feel I give life to my work and a mood that can be sensed by the viewer. Children and animals are my great loves, and as such, are frequently an integral part of my life and art.

Recently I have begun painting New Mexico in watercolour and acrylic. I am overwhelmed by the enormity of the landscape, coupled with the amazing colour and history of the ancient buildings and peoples there.

My photocards echo this and there seems to be no end to the inner joy I feel when painting or photographing in New Mexico, Taos in particular.
